Owego resident rescued from fire on William Street
One resident was rescued and his home was damaged by a fire in the Village of Owego last Thursday. According to the Owego Fire Department, a neighbor called in the fire on William Street at around 6:45 p.m. on July 18th. Owego Deputy Fire Chief Mike Hopkins arrived on the scene and requested a second alarm for a working structure fire. He was informed by a neighbor that one person was still inside the home.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Environmental Protection Agency is awarding $4.3 billion in grants to fund projects in 30 states to reduce climate pollution. The money will go to 25 projects targeting greenhouse gas emissions from transportation, electric power, commercial and residential buildings, industry, agriculture and waste and materials management.
