The Bird House in Pittsford celebrates 30 years in business

PITTSFORD, N.Y. (WROC) — For three decades, many people in our area have been going to The Bird House in Pittsford to help them get a little slice of nature in their backyards.

They sell birdhouses, garden goods, everything you need for backyard birding and seed: a lot of it!

Co-owner Liz Magnanti told New 8 they sell three to four tons of it a week! The feed is good for many native birds you’re looking to attract. They rotate it through so all of it stays fresh.

They also have an impressive array of items for rodent abatement and deterrents:

“If you have squirrel issues, we’re here to help, keeping them out of your feeders, or encouraging them to go to a different feeder,” Magnanti said. “I like being able to provide people… For them to be able to bring nature into their own yards.

“The world can seem so chaotic, but there’s little things you can do to make your own space a little haven, for nature and outdoor life, and I love being able to provide people that,” she said.

The next part of their business they’re growing is delivery, through The Bird House truck. Magnanti says they have bought a warehouse and will be moving product into it starting on Monday.
