PITTSFORD, N.Y. (WROC) – A race was held Sunday morning to help raise awareness about epilepsy and put an end to the stigma that follows the condition. The third annual Seize the Day: Amer’s Epilepsy Trail Run was organized by recent Honeoye Falls-Lima High School graduate Amer Armbruster. Amer is an avid runner and was diagnosed with juvenile absence epilepsy in 2019.

The event was held at Mendon Ponds Park in Pittsford. Attendees were able to take part in a timed 5K/10K trail race, and a one-mile fun walk/run.

Proceeds from the event support Epilepsy Alliance of West Central New York’s programs for adults and children with epilepsy.
