Man killed in I-490 crash in Chili identified
Monroe County sheriff's deputies have identified the man killed Wednesday night in a one-car crash on Interstate 490 in Chili. Mark A. Battaglia, 35, Stafford, Genesee County, crashed in the eastbound lanes of the highway, near Paul Road, around 9:40 p.m., said sheriff's spokeswoman Amy Young. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Volunteers of the Brockport Dress a Girl Around the World Program met recently to pack four suitcases containing 25 items each of home-made pillowcase sundresses in assorted sizes, new underwear for girls and boys, beanie babies, dolls, and children books. Over the past nine years, 800 sundresses and related items have been delivered by local residents/couriers to: Costa Rica, Ecuador, Ghana, Guatemala, Honduras, Jamaica, Kenya, Nicaragua, Puerto Rico, Tanzania, and most recently to Liberia in June.

Stan Grossfeld was born in New York City and went on to Rochester Institute of Technology to earn his BA in Professional Photography in 1973. He began his career as a journalist at The Star Ledger in Newark, N.J., where he worked for two years.
