    Italian Eatery Chain in North Carolina files for bankruptcy to cut debt

    The Italian restaurant chain known for family-sized entrees and a spinning Pope Table has filed for bankruptcy and closed its only Carolina location.

    Buca di Beppo at Carolina Place Parkway in Pineville, near Carolina Place mall, is among a dozen restaurants across the country that abruptly closed last week.

    The bankruptcy filing took place on Sunday in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Texas. The company reported having $0 to $50,000 in assets and owing $15 million to $50 million to at least 30 creditors.

    Rich Saultz, president of Buca di Beppo, issued a statement acknowledging the difficulties faced by the restaurant industry and describing the bankruptcy move as the best step forward for the brand.

    I been there once or twice it was not that great. I hated there fettuccine Alfredo it just tasted awful to me !
