It’s not exactly something you’ll see in a Chamber of Commerce packet, but Charlotte, North Carolina, has earned a spot on the list of America’s sweatiest cities.

With the combination of heat and—you guessed it—humidity, Charlotte ranks among the top places where residents really feel the summer sizzle.

Sweat Soaked in the Southeast

The southeastern U.S. makes a strong showing on this list, with both Charlotte and Atlanta, Georgia, making the cut. Austin, Texas, also joins the ranks of the sweatiest cities, experiencing scorching temperatures as high as 110 degrees, not including the humidity.

Sweat on the Rise

Back in 1879, Atlanta's summertime temperature averaged around 82 degrees. Fast forward to June of this year, and Atlanta recorded its second hottest June in history. Charlotte isn’t far behind, landing in the top 5 sweatiest cities.
