These Fast Food Chains Have the Absolute Lowest Customer Satisfaction Score In America

Not all fast food chains score high in customer satisfaction, and recent results from the American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI) shed light on two notable underperformers: McDonald’s and Popeyes (RBI).

Despite their nationwide popularity, these chains rank among the lowest for customer satisfaction in 2023 and 2024.

McDonald’s received a score of 71, reflecting a two-point improvement from the previous year. Meanwhile, Popeyes saw its score drop from 74 to 72, a 3% decrease.

Both chains face significant challenges in meeting the expectations of their diners, putting them behind competitors in overall satisfaction.

But here’s the twist for North Carolina eaters: despite their lower scores, both McDonald’s and Popeyes saw increases in sales. McDonald’s reported a 2% jump in revenue, while Popeyes enjoyed an impressive 6.2% surge in domestic sales.

This raises a fascinating question for North Carolina diners: Can fast food chains continue to thrive financially even if they don't fully satisfy their customers?
