The Historic Brookstown Inn in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, is more than just a charming, historic hotel—it’s also known for its spooky past and reports of paranormal activity.

Originally a cotton mill that opened in 1837, the building has preserved much of its architectural charm, with exposed brick walls and wooden ceilings. But what makes it stand out is its reputation as one of the most haunted places in Winston-Salem.

The hotel’s most famous ghost is said to be "Sally," a former mill worker who reportedly died in a tragic accident on the fourth floor. Legend has it that Sally was pushed down an elevator shaft by another woman during an altercation, and now her spirit roams the halls of the inn.

Guests have reported seeing her full-body apparition and hearing strange noises, including screams in the middle of the night.

The fourth floor is particularly notorious for paranormal sightings, with some visitors capturing orbs or eerie shadows in their photos. Despite the ghostly presence, the inn is known for its welcoming atmosphere and proximity to historic Old Salem, adding even more layers to its haunted history.

Have you ever experienced anything spooky at the Brookstown Inn? Would you dare to stay in one of its haunted rooms?
