Governor Abbott Has Implemented Innovative Technology to Secure the Texas Border

Texas Governor Greg Abbott announced that National Guard soldiers are currently training to operate airboats.

These airboats are essential to Texas' efforts to secure its border with Mexico as part of Operation Lone Star. Governor Abbott wrote on X that the training would enable the soldiers to operate and maintain the airboats effectively.

He also added that Texas is committed to using every possible tool and strategy to secure its border. Airboats are flat-bottomed watercraft propelled by an aircraft-style propeller and powered by either an aircraft or car engine. Newsweek has emailed an Abbott spokesperson for further comment.

Governor Greg Abbott's initiative to fortify the border is causing displeasure among the federal government and several cities across the United States. They argue that Governor Abbott lacks the authority to protect the border of Texas.
