Brighton Lake Road Closure Wednesday
A portion of Brighton Lake Road will be closed Wednesday. Brighton Lake Road will be closed to thru-traffic between South Third Street and Fairway Trails Drive. Incident #: 24-2304 Location: 14000 block of E Old US 12. INFORMATION: While on routine patrol an officer observed a vehicle traveling towards them at what appeared to be faster than the posted speed limit. The officer turned his vehicle around and was able to confirm the vehicle was in violation of the posted speed limit. The officer stopped the vehicle in the 14000 block of E Old US 12 and made contact with the driver of the vehicle. Upon making contact with the driver of the vehicle the officer immediately noticed a strong smell of alcohol emanating from the vehicle as well as the driver as the driver spoke with the officer.

Pinckney Schools nears contract agreement; teachers to vote
PINCKNEY — Pinckney Community Schools and its teachers union have reached a tentative contract agreement that, if approved, would be in effect for the 2024-25 school year. Members of the Pinckney Educational Support Association still have to vote on the tentative contract. The previous contract was in place for two years from July 1, 2022, through June 30, 2024.

(July 15, 2024) – Boater Michael Sitko of Pinckney, Michigan, caught a five-bass limit weighing 24 pounds, 13 ounces, Saturday to win the MLF Phoenix Bass Fishing League (BFL) Presented by T-H Marine on the Detroit River . The tournament was the second event of the season for the BFL Michigan Division. Sitko earned $10,917, including the lucrative $7,000 Phoenix MLF Contingency Bonus, for his victory.
