Free Pool Access at State Parks All Summer Long!
Governor Kathy Hochul has initiated a statewide campaign aimed at encouraging New Yorkers to embrace outdoor activities and recreation this summer. As part of the “Get Offline, Get Outside” initiative, she announced free admission to several New York State Park pools, alongside other initiatives promoting health and wellness.
Macy's Fireworks Event Draws Crowds to Waterfront
HOBOKEN, NJ- The Macy’s Fireworks returned to the Hudson River on July 4th for the first time in ten years. There were five barges on the water with 60,000 shells to light up the sky. Hoboken’s viewpoints provided an unobstructed view of the Hudson River and the New York City skyline. With people flocking to the waterfront for the best view in their droves, Councilwoman Tiffanie Fisher took to X to thank the public safety teams for making the event “so safe and enjoyable.” Fisher also stated in her tweet: “For 2025: waterfront fixed, partner with HBA to promote businesses” and work with the various public transport services “so visitors and workers get home earlier.” For more local news, visit TAPinto.net

2 children shot inside McDonald's in the Bronx
Two children were shot inside a McDonald's in the Bronx, police say.It happened Saturday just before 10 p.m. on 2516 White Plains Rd. in Allerton.A 12-year-old was shot in the left thigh and back and a 13-year-old was shot in the left leg. They were both taken to the hospital where they are expected to survive.The suspect fled the scene. A condo in North Bergen that sold for $1.3 million tops the list of the most expensive residential real estate sales in North Bergen area in the past week. In total, seven residential real estate sales were recorded in the area during the past week, with an average price of $634,321. The average price per square foot ended up at $421.
Amtrak service restored between NYC and Boston after power outage
NEW YORK — Amtrak service has been restored between New York and Boston after it was suspended for much of Saturday due to a power outage, the rail service announced. In a statement Saturday afternoon, Amtrak said the service disruption was due to a malfunctioning circuit breaker that was causing a power outage on all tracks between Penn Station in New York and Union Station in New Haven, Connecticut.
