Four “Rocket Fuel” defendants sentenced
Four defendants in a multi-jurisdictional drug investigation were sentenced last week at the Oconee County Courthouse. It was three years ago, at a Walhalla news conference, that Oconee Sheriff Mike Crenshaw and Alan Wilson, the state attorney’s general and others announced the indictments arose from the “Rocket Fuel” wiretap investigation, venued in both Oconee and Fairfield counties. The following sentences were announced Thursday: 16 years for Terrell Compton, for trafficking meth 28-100 grams and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime; 12 years for Mitchell Weston, trafficking in meth 28-100 grams; 10 years for Julianna Sims, trafficking in meth and trafficking in heroin; and five years for Gregory Goodine, distribution of meth and distribution of heroin. A fifth defendant last week, Mamie Black, pleaded guilty for trafficking meth, but sentencing in her case was deferred.
