As 2023 closes out and you wonder what 2024 will be like, you may be thinking about resolutions. Common resolutions include things you want to give up: bad habits, sugar, addictions, relationships, or jobs. Some are active resolutions like exercising, making more money, getting a bigger house…

But what about resolutions for your inner self or your family?

Spending more time reminding your loved ones how special they are to you. Remembering the joyful person you were as a child, the one that may have gotten bogged down by life, others, or all the negative news that fuels the media. Or maybe you want to make new friends or find a place you can go as a family where there’s no violence, judgement, or politics. Where you can go and feel happy, good, and uplifted.

If you want a spot to go where all these things happen, you may want to give the Center for Spiritual Living (CSL) in Simi Valley on 1756 Erringer Street, Suite 100, Simi Valley, CA a try, Sundays at 10:30 A.M or on YouTube.

    Per the CSL site:

Theirs is a “...philosophy, a teaching, a belief system that suggests where to find the answers – within through a process of faith-based spiritual introspection and discovery...

Ours is a spiritual community where you can begin your journey or continue one on which you’ve already embarked. And here, you can do it in community with open-hearted, like-minded individuals who practice the principles of love, inclusion, equity, and justice. We are guided by a vision of a world that works for everyone. Our mission to help achieve that goal is woven through all our activities.

We’re community, inclusive, loving and authentic. We celebrate all paths to God, in gratitude, empowering self and others. We serve compassionately through outreach, inspiration, and education.

You will be reminded that you are always worthy, and loved. It’s a palpable feeling the minute you walk into the center. Whatever your past or current religion or beliefs, it’s a nice center to visit to feel good about yourself and others. Walk in, and remember your inner child who was filled with love, kindness, and hope.

Music by the The Soul Purpose band, who performs each week, plus a new guest musician every week, together provide a spirited and fun backdrop to the services. Reverand Stephen Rambo’s sermons are insightful, eloquent, and thought provoking.

Recently the center has hired a teacher to lead the Kosmic Kids program so children of all ages can learn to love and value themselves and others, while the adults enjoy the sermon and fantastic music.

With all the wars, hate, politics, fear, and racism, wouldn’t it be nice to have an hour a week of hope, peace, and love? And wouldn’t that be a nice change for your kids?

Welcome to 2024. It’s going to be amazing!
