    Man Arrested for Attempted Murder in Stabbing Case

    FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – A suspect is behind bars after repeatedly stabbing a man Sunday morning.

    According to a media release from the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO), the incident occurred September 1, 2024.

    At 9:31 a.m., deputies responded to reports of a stabbing at Mr. B's Exxon in the 300 block of Warrenton Road.

    A SCSO deputy arrived on scene to find an adult male victim suffering from several life-threatening stab wounds and losing a significant amount of blood.

    While awaiting the arrival of rescue, the deputy placed a tourniquet on one arm as a second deputy placed a tourniquet on the victim’s other arm. The victim was quickly transported to the hospital for treatment.

    The suspect was identified as J’Lei Prince Anthony Bland, 22, of Stafford.

    Deputies soon learned Bland was at a home on Anvil Road, and SWAT and Drone Teams were activated as deputies established a perimeter around the residence.

    Bland emerged from the home and was arrested without incident. He was charged with attempted murder and malicious wounding.

    Police did not disclose if the victim knew the subject. They also did not disclose a possible motive for the stabbing. The victim is recovering from his wounds.

    Bland is being held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.
