CULPEPER, Va. – Police are seeking a man wanted for an assault and shooting incident that recently happened at a local tavern.

According to a Culpeper Police Department (CPD) media release from Master Police Officer Julia Cole, the crime occurred October 18, 2024.

At approximately 8:49 p.m., the county E-911 Center received reports of a fight at The Far Gohn Brewery on South East Street in Culpeper, Virginia.

Members of the CPD and Culpeper County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) responded and located an adult male suffering from non-life threatening injuries. A second adult male had already left the scene.

Detectives soon arrived to interview witnesses and collect evidence. A CCSO K9 team also responded to assist.

Based on the initial investigation, the two men were strangers. At first they only argued, but the confrontation soon escalated into a physical fight.

One of the men struck the other with a drinking glass. In response, the second man used his handgun as a blunt object to strike the first male, causing the weapon to discharge a single time.

The man who was struck by the gun sustained injury. EMS transported him to a local hospital. No one was injured by the gunshot. The man in possession of the firearm quickly fled the scene.

On October 22, the CPD obtained arrest warrants for a Dashon L. Robinson of Culpeper with Willful Discharge of a Firearm, Reckless Handling of a Firearm, and Brandishing.

Robinson, 33, is currently wanted on these charges as well as an additional misdemeanor warrant for Brandishing stemming from an unrelated incident in the town of Culpeper.

This is an active and ongoing investigation.

Anyone with footage of this incident or information about Robinson's whereabouts is encouraged to call Lt. Det. L. Myers at (540) 829-5515 or email tips@culpeperva.gov.
