PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – On Tuesday, September 26, a judge dismissed all charges against a Philadelphia police officer who fatally shot a man during a traffic stop. On August 14, officer Mark Dial exited his car during a stop in North Philadelphia. Within seconds, 27-year-old Eddie Irizarry was shot through his car window. He did not survive.

LURAY, Va. – A Front Royal woman is behind bars after allegedly selling a fatal dose of methadone. On March 13, 2023, members of the Luray Police Department and EMS were dispatched to Charles Street, in the Fairview area, for a report of a male who was not breathing. He was pronounced deceased by EMS responders on-scene.

According to a report on the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) page, at approximately 12:06 a.m, a Traffic Safety Volunteer (TSV) was directing traffic in the area of Garrisonville Road and Keystone Drive as a paving crew was conducting work.

West and Deputy W.E. Trainor responded to the 700 block of Mountain View Road for a single vehicle accident at approximately 3:09 a.m.
Justice Served: Man sentenced to life for 2022 Shenandoah murder and shooting
LURAY, Va. – A Shenandoah man has been formally sentenced for a 2022 incident that resulted in the wounding of one victim and the death of another. It all began on July 21, 2022 when the Page County Emergency Communications Center received a call that two people had been shot near 225 Buzzard View Place, a rural road near the town of Shenandoah, about 3.5 miles east of Grove Hill.
Page County Volunteer Fire Department releases June call stats
The Stanley Volunteer Fire Department answered 39 calls for the month of June, reported Fire Chief Terry A. Pettit. Via an emailed statement, Chief Pettit reported that there were sixteen emergency calls, twelve medical calls and eleven non-emergency calls. The total for the year so far is 302 calls.

STANLEY, Va. – On Tuesday, the Stanley Volunteer Fire Department (SVFD) battled a house fire that caused extensive damage and left an elderly man injured. Via an emailed statement, Fire Chief Terry A. Pettit reported that the SVFD was called for a house on September 12, at 1:30 p.m.

Man Arrested for Pointing Gun at Female Motorist in Virginia Road Rage Incident
HAMPTON, Va. — Virginia State Police are reporting that they arrested a man after he pointed what appeared to be a gun at another driver. According to state police, the incident occurred at approximately 10:45 a.m. on Sunday, September 10. A female victim had been driving onto I-64 in the city of Newport News when a 2011 Chevrolet Camaro was also trying to merge into interstate traffic. The two exchanged heated words.

CULPEPER COUNTY, Va. – Virginia State Police are investigating a fatal two-vehicle crash that occurred on Wednesday, September 6. According to a Virginia State Police media release, the crash occurred along Route Zachary Taylor Highway (Route 522) just north of Rapidan Road (Route 615).

Driver found dead 3 hours after Lee Highway crash
RAPPAHANNOCK COUNTY, Va. – Virginia State Police are investigating a single-vehicle crash that killed an Alton man on Monday. According to a Virginia State Police media release, a westbound 2005 Kia Spectra was traveling on Lee Highway (Route 21) on the morning of September 11, when it failed to maneuver a curve. It then ran off the left side of the roadway, went through a fence, down an embankment, and struck a tree 150 feet west of Sperryville Pike (Route 522).

In the early afternoon of September 8, the Page County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) received a report that two children were missing. Details indicated that they'd possibly been abducted by a female subject after a court order awarded custody to the children’s father.
ATV rollover in Sumerduck leads to felony charges
FAUQUIER COUNTY, Va. – A Sumerduck man was recently charged after a crash that left a 55-year-old passenger seriously injured. At approximately 1:30 a.m. on September 3, the Fauquier Emergency Communications Center received a call from a person on Golden Drive in Sumerduck, regarding an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) rollover crash with one male subject not breathing.
Wildlife camera images lead to arrest of burglary suspect
LURAY, Va. – The Page County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) released a written statement regarding a mid-August crime, and events leading to the subject’s arrest. On August 19, the PCSO received a call reporting a breaking and entering in Jewell Hollow. A deputy responded to the scene and met the 911 caller. A male victim stated the suspect had entered his residence by removing screws from a window. According to the victim, several household items had been stolen.
