Tragedy in Luray; child dead after possible drowning
PAGE COUNTY, Va. — On August 22, the body of a missing 5-year-old boy was found after a frantic multi-agency search. Around 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Page County Emergency Communications dispatchers received reports of a missing child in the area of Government Pond in Luray. The pond is located near Page Valley Estates, just west of the town.
North Carolina man arrested in Virginia after shooting multiple rounds into occupied vehicle
HARRISONBURG, Va. – The City of Harrisonburg Police Department (HPD) has made an arrest following a Sunday evening shooting near East Market Street. Timothy Leach, 43, of North Carolina, was arrested on Tuesday, August 22. He is charged with Aggravated Malicious Wounding, Shooting into an Occupied Vehicle and Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony.
Edinburg man charged in head-on collision
SHENANDOAH COUNTY, Va. – Virginia State Police have charged an Edinburg man in connection with a two-vehicle crash that happened Monday morning. According to information provided by Virginia State Police Sgt. Brent Coffey, Public Information Officer for the Virginia State Police Culpeper Division, the crash occurred on Back Road (Va. 623) approximately three-tenths of a mile north of Coffmantown Road (Va. 680), in Woodstock.

Virginia man killed in crash just minutes from home; New York driver charged
STEPHENSON, Va. – Charges have been filed against a New York state man involved in a fatal Berryville Pike crash. According to a media release issued by the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO), a deputy was on his way to work just before 10 p.m. on July 20. Near Burnt Factory Road, he was passed by a 2008 Toyota Corolla traveling at a high rate of speed. As the deputy attempted to catch up to the vehicle, the Corolla was observed weaving in and out of traffic and running the red light at Woods Mill, where it t-boned a 2015 Honda Accord attempting to cross from eastbound Route 7 onto Woods Mill.
