Luray 'Little Library' inspired by a love of books
LURAY -- When Jenna Hill moved to her new residence in 2021, she quickly noticed the number of students and families who walked past her yard on a daily basis. Inspired by a love of books and her home's proximity to Luray Middle and Elementary Schools, Hill knew her First Street residence was the perfect location for a little free library. A plan was soon hatched.

LURAY – September was National Suicide Awareness Month. However, the pain of losing a loved one to suicide is an awareness survivors struggle with every day. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, suicide is one of the leading causes of death in the United States, claiming the lives of more than 45,979 people in 2020 alone.
Luray firefighters battle Dollar Tree blaze
LURAY, Va — On Thursday, October 13, the Luray Fire Department successfully battled a structure fire at the Dollar Tree in East Luray Shopping Center. According to Luray Fire Department president Steve “Odie” Campbell, the initial call was placed to dispatch at 4:57 p.m. Fire crews arrived minutes later, initially encountering a large volume of smoke and then flames in the rear of the structure. Heavy smoke pushed through the store and the shared attic space of the adjacent Valley Health Wellness & Fitness Center and the Boost Mobile store.
Warrant issued in case of missing Virginia man
LURAY, Va – The Page County Sheriff's Office has named a person of interest in the ongoing case of missing Virginia man, Joshua Dee Bradford. Mr. Bradford, 35, was last seen on September 3, 2022 in the Luray area, in the company of Marcus Lee Lewis. The sheriff's office currently holds a felony warrant for Lewis, who is described as a white male, 5’8” and 135 lbs. According to past mug shots, he has had dark/salt pepper hair and has also been bald. He has several tattoos.
