As of Wednesday evening, fire officials estimated a 10% containment of the fire. National Park Service firefighters, in partnership with Luray Fire Department and Virginia Department of Forestry are continuing suppression efforts and establishing a fire line.

Men Indicted for Abducting Woman in Luray Caverns Parking Lot
LURAY, Va. – Men who abducted a woman at Luray Caverns in November received indictments by members of a grand jury this week. According to a November statement on the Luray Police Department Facebook page, officers responded to the Caverns parking lot on Sunday, November 12, 2023, after receiving reports of two masked men forcing an adult female into a vehicle and driving away. A juvenile female was also also involved in the incident, but not held against her will.
