Amaya Peterson crowned 2024 Tama County Fair Queen
GLADBROOK -Amaya Peterson of rural Gladbrook was crowned the 2024 Tama County Fair Queen this past Tuesday evening at the fairgrounds in Gladbrook. She was vying for the honor alongside fellow candidates Stella Betts of rural Gladbrook, Faith Dvorak of Elberon, and Ava Monat of rural Traer. Moments before Peterson was crowned, Dvorak was announced as the 2024 Tama County Fair Princess.

Iowa OB/GYN concerned about abortion law exceptions
DES MOINES, Iowa (Gray Television Iowa Capitol Bureau) - Iowans are still waiting to hear when the state’s abortion law will take effect. The Iowa Supreme Court has yet to decide whether or not they’re going to rehear the case. If they say no, the case will get kicked to the District Court where a judge will set the date on when to lift the pause. Friday the judge told attorneys in the case he’ll give a few days notice before lifting the injunction.

That’s usually around six weeks, before some women know they’re pregnant. Planned Parenthood will continue to provide abortions in the narrower window set by the law. Planned Parenthood is expanding operations at its health centers near state lines in places like Omaha, Nebraska.
