New Cedar Rapids Michael’s Store to Open in August
Craft lovers rejoice! A new Michael's store will open in Cedar Rapids next month!. If you love crafting or your kids need materials for a school project, you head to Michaels. The location at 1470 Twixt Town Road in Marion has been open since 1993. Now, another Michael's location will be opening up on the southwest side of Cedar Rapids. The Cedar Rapids Gazette reports that the new Michael's store will be located at 3500 Dalton Way SW. It will be in the same building as Ross Dress for Less in the Westdale Town Center.
Construction in NewBo disrupts Cedar Rapids businesses on 16th Ave.
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — A construction project in the NewBo neighborhood is disrupting local businesses as crews prepare to repave the entirety of 16th Avenue Southeast. Right now, work is being done on the intersection of 16th and 3rd Street, but work is expected to continue down the road into the fall.
Hawkeyes Earn AVCA Team Academic Award
IOWA CITY, Iowa – The University of Iowa volleyball program earned the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award, the organization announced on Wednesday. The Hawkeyes have been recognized for this honor twice, previously in 2014. To obtain the honor, the team must maintain a year-long GPA of at least 3.30. The Hawkeyes held a 3.52 GPA throughout the year. New Venue For Dubuque Arts Council Summer Concerts Announced
According to the Telegraph Herald, the Dubuque Arts Council has announced a new venue for its Music in the Gardens concert series in 2025.
