🚧 Update: Weight Limit Now 12 Tons on KY 8 Licking River Bridge in Northern Kentucky

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) has announced a new weight restriction for the bridge over the Licking River, located in Kenton and Campbell Counties. Effective immediately, a 12-ton weight limit has been imposed, replacing the bridge's previous limit of 17 tons. In addition to the reduced weight limit, traffic on the bridge is now confined to one lane in each direction. The latest update indicates that due to the new weight limit, school buses will be prohibited from crossing the bridge. This will pose a significant change for transportation plans, as the bridge was already inaccessible for fire trucks, loaded garbage trucks, loaded tractor trailers, and TANK buses under the previous weight restriction.
