🚧 Traffic Alert: NM 152 Chip Sealing and Road Closure Update 🚧

Residents of Grant County should prepare for a road closure due to a maintenance operation. Highland Enterprise Inc., the contractor responsible for the operation, will be conducting chip seal pavement placement. The project starts on Monday, May 13, 2024, and will continue through to Sunday, May 19, 2024, affecting NM 152 from Emory Pass to Santa Clara. Due to the works, NM 152 will be closed between milepost 40 (Kingston) and milepost 15 (San Lorenzo), utilizing the winter gates to ensure crew and public safety. Motorists are advised to detour via NM 27, NM 26, and US 180 into Deming during this period. The construction team will work seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., and the gates will remain closed overnight. For travelers from San Lorenzo to Santa Clara, be prepared for flagging, a pilot car operation, and brooming activities. These measures will result in intermittent lane closures and reduced speeds in the construction zone, leading to minor delays. It is important to note that there will be no center lane striping in the construction zones. Motorists are encouraged to exercise caution and patience when traveling through this area during the specified times.
