Aberdeen, SD Mosquito Spraying scheduled for Monday, July 15th
ABERDEEN, S.D. (Press Release) The City of Aberdeen has scheduled a city-wide ground spray for mosquitoes on Monday, July 15th between the hours of 8:30 pm and 12:30 am. Mosquito Control has noticed an increase in the Culex tarsalis mosquito. This species is identified as one of the most common carriers of West Nile virus. You can reduce the risk of getting West Nile virus by eliminating mosquito habitat around your property, applying insect repellents and wearing proper clothing when outdoors.

BROOKINGS, SD (KELO) — The Brookings Summer Arts Festival features works for sale by 175 artists from the region, plus dozens of food trucks. The festival is taking place in Pioneer Park from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday’s hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. There is also a children’s area with make and take activities, plus live entertainment on three stages. Admission is free. Shuttle buses will run continually from the South Dakota Ag Museum, the cost is $2 each way.

Milling and asphalt paving to commence Monday on U.S. Highway 212 and S.D. Highway 63 in Mobridge Area
Work is scheduled to begin Monday (July 15, 2024) on an asphalt milling and resurfacing project on U.S. Highway 212 between Dupree and Eagle Butte. The $16.3 million project will start one mile west of Dupree, and go east for 20 miles to the east side of Eagle Butte. In addition, S.D. Highway 63 from the junction with Highway 212 going north for 17 miles, will be milled and resurfaced.
