Bike Theft Reported in TRF
Police are reporting a bike theft in Thief River Falls. According to the report, an 18-20 inch green Mongoose boys bike with pegs on back was stolen from the area of the Edgewood Apartments on Edgewood Drive in southeast Thief River Falls. Officers responded Thursday just before 2pm.
Two Men Cited For Early Morning Fight
Two men were cited following an early morning fight last weekend in Thief River Falls. Police say Jonah Underdahl (25) of Viking, and Eli Johnson (24) of Strandquist were cited for Disorderly Conduct – Brawling or Fighting. Police responded to State Avenue North around 2:30am Saturday.

(RED LAKE NATION YOUTH SHELTER) Open: July 23, 2024- Until filled. POSITION SUMMARY: Builds therapeutic relationships and provides intensive supervision of youth that are residing on a temporary basis at the Gwayakochige-Wigamig – The Red Lake Youth Shelter. Oshkaabewisag (Advocates) will supervise and work with youth between the ages 5-17. The position will require working in an office/shelter setting that is open 24 hours and 365 days a year. This position requires on-site staffing for 3 shifts; day shift, evening shift and overnight shifts. Oshkaabewisag will provide general shelter oversight to ensure safety of the youth, establish and promote shelter programing. The Oshkaabewisag will cooperate with the Gwayakochige-Wigamig Case Manager to assist the youth in achieving housing stability, recovery from complex trauma, setting and reaching personal goals, family reunification and/or independent self-sufficiency. Reports to Youth Shelter Executive Director, Part time position, may lead to Full time w/benefits (Various shifts), salary; $17.00-$20.00 DOQ. ORGANIZATION Gwayakochige-Wigamig: "Making the right choices" (as in the choices Creator would want you to make) Gwayakochige-Wigamig is a cornerstone for intergenerational and community healing. We are committed to ensuring that our Anishinaabe youth and their families have access to their Indigenous rights of community, belonging and cultural identity. Gwayakochige-Wigamig is an Anishinaabe (Indigenous Person) culture-based emergency shelter for at risk Oshkii-ayaa'aag (youth, pl) who may be experiencing houselessness and instabilities due to; runaway status, family crisis, abuse, may be involved with the juvenile corrections and/or child protection system(s). The Emergency Shelter provides culturally based emergency shelter services to youth ages 5 to 17 years old located on the Red Lake Indian Reservation. Services include emergency and short-term shelter, crisis intervention, case and systems advocacy, information and referrals, trauma-informed therapy, access to medical/dental care, cultural advising, counseling, case management and community education.
