Salt Creek Fire now 41% contained
Updated July 14 at 9:22 a.m.: According to the National Interagency Fire Center, containment on the Salt Creek fire grew to 41% overnight. The fire is still 4,081 acres big. The Salt Fire is approximately 10 miles east of Eagle Point and burning on private and Bureau of Land Management (BLM) land. FIRST RESPONDERS DEAL WITH FIRE IN THE CAMAS VALLEY AREA
First responders dealt with a fire in the Camas Valley area on Saturday. Douglas Forest Protective Association Public Information Officer Rachel Pope said just before 10:30 a.m. crews from DFPA, the Coos Forest Protective Association, Tenmile Rural Fire District, Camas Valley Rural Fire District, Lookingglass Rural Fire District, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, Oregon State Police and the Oregon Department of Transportation responded to the report of a quarter of an acre grass fire along Highway 42 westbound between mile markers 58 and 59.

‘Mickey Mouse’ Murderer Sentenced To Four-Year Prison Term After Family Demands Justice
Daniel Burda, the man accused of killing original Mickey Mouse Club member Dennis Day and concealing his death, has finally been found guilty and sentenced by a judge. In 2018, Dennis Day was found dead at his home in Phoenix, Oregon. The 76-year-old former child actor had been missing for several months, and his car had been found 200 miles away; it is unclear how his vehicle came to be in the possession of the individuals who had it. Day’s body was apparently in his home for nine months before it was discovered, leading his family to file a $2.2 million lawsuit against the Phoenix Police Department, accusing law enforcement of negligence in investigating his disappearance.
