At just 23, Matt Torres is making waves in the real estate world and the pool, as he represents Team USA at the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris. Born with amniotic band syndrome, Torres, who is missing half of his right leg and has deformities in both hands, is competing in the 100-meter backstroke, 100-meter freestyle, and 400-meter freestyle. His journey is a testament to resilience and passion, balancing a thriving real estate career with his commitment to swimming.

Torres' real estate journey began a year ago with Century 21 Scala Group in Bridgeport, Connecticut, where he works alongside his mother, Martha. The flexibility of his job allows him to train rigorously while meeting client demands. Inspired by Michael Phelps, Torres has been swimming since age 7, and his determination has led him to hold a world record and several medals in national and international competitions.

“I feel confident in the training I’ve done,” Torres says, focused on executing a strong race plan amidst the excitement of the Games. Whether in the pool or closing a deal, Torres embodies the spirit of perseverance, chasing excellence as an athlete and a real estate professional.

After the Paralympics, Torres plans to focus entirely on real estate and become a top-producing listing agent.
