Supermodel Karlie Kloss and entrepreneur Joshua Kushner have made waves in the luxury real estate market, acquiring the iconic “Wave House” in Malibu for $29.5 million. This purchase, marked by an astonishing $20 million discount, adds another jewel to the couple’s growing property portfolio, reinforcing their reputation as savvy real estate investors.

The "Wave House," designed by visionary architect and surfer Harry Gesner in the early 1960s, is celebrated for its unique design that mimics the crest of a breaking wave. The midcentury modern masterpiece is perched on stilts above the beach, offering breathtaking ocean views that dominate every room in the house. Its three circular decks and copper shingles, shaped like fish scales, further amplify its oceanic theme, making it a beloved architectural marvel along Malibu’s pristine coastline.

The property, boasting six bedrooms and eight bathrooms, offers ample space for Kloss, 32, Kushner, 39, and their two children. The primary suite, nestled on the beachfront, features a hot tub and sauna, while each bedroom opens to panoramic views of the Pacific, ensuring an immersive coastal living experience.

This acquisition marks the first change of ownership for the Wave House in over 30 years. The previous owner, Warner Bros. Records executive Mo Ostin, who passed away in 2022, had purchased the home in 1989 from British rock legend Rod Stewart. Gesner’s son, Zen, shared that his father’s vision for the property was to capture the essence of a powerful wave, a design born from sketches Gesner made while sitting on his surfboard in the ocean.

While the $29.5 million price tag is significant, it pales compared to other recent Malibu sales, such as the $190 million property purchased by Beyoncé and JAY-Z and a $210 million mansion sold nearby. Kloss and Kushner, however, have demonstrated a penchant for acquiring high-value properties. Their real estate portfolio includes a $21.5 million Miami mansion and a $35 million New York City apartment, both purchased in recent years.

This latest acquisition not only enhances their portfolio but also places them within a legacy of Hollywood elite who have called the Wave House home, continuing the tradition of luxury and prestige that defines Malibu’s real estate landscape.
