In the serene wilderness of Whitefish, Montana, NFL legend Drew Brees is offering his cherished A-frame “treehouse” retreat for auction, opening a door for someone to claim a piece of paradise at a fraction of its listed price. Built with the meticulous craftsmanship of the renowned "Treehouse Masters" team from Animal Planet, this one-of-a-kind escape is more than just a property—it's a living testament to the intersection of nature and art.

Set against the backdrop of 1,400 acres of national forest, the treehouse is nestled within the gated Homestead community on a sprawling 20-acre parcel. While the property is listed at $7.5 million, the auction is expected to start with bids ranging from $2 million to $4 million, making this an extraordinary opportunity for a discerning buyer.

The 1,700-square-foot A-frame structure, though compact, is brimming with potential. Initially designed as a guest cottage, it offers the option for expansion, with utilities already in place for additional structures. The Homestead community provides access to amenities including a golf course and clubhouse, while the charming town of Whitefish lies just 13 miles away.

Brees’ retreat is more than a home; it’s a sanctuary. The hemlock paneling and full-sized timbers, coupled with metal beams, bring the outside in, with expansive windows framing breathtaking views of the surrounding forest. The craftsmanship speaks to the meticulous care with which this treehouse was designed and built—a reflection of the former quarterback’s commitment to excellence both on and off the field.

“When my family and I first visited this stunning piece of land, we knew it was a dream property,” Brees shared. “As dedicated fans of ‘Treehouse Masters’—and friends of the ‘Treehouse’ team—we were thrilled when they turned our dream into reality by building this one-of-a-kind creation.”

Inside, the treehouse is thoughtfully appointed. The kitchen, though small, is fully equipped with a full-size fridge, gas and electric stove, and dishwasher. The open floor plan seamlessly connects the kitchen to the dining and living areas, creating an inviting space for gatherings. The main bedroom, with its en suite bathroom featuring a deep soaker tub and artisanal tile work, offers a private retreat within the retreat. Outside, a deck provides the perfect setting for evening drinks or al fresco meals, while a fire pit, crafted from rocks sourced on-site, adds a rustic touch.

Brees, a Super Bowl champion and the MVP of the 2010 game, spent 20 seasons in the NFL, leaving an indelible mark on the sport. Upon retiring in 2020, he shared a heartfelt message with his fans, expressing his deep connection to the city of New Orleans and the Saints organization. Post-retirement, Brees has shifted his focus from the football field to his family, including coaching his son’s football team.

Now, as he parts with this Montana retreat, Brees offers someone else the chance to live in the dream he once built—a place where the boundaries between indoor luxury and outdoor beauty blur, and where stories of adventure and tranquility are waiting to unfold.

Good luck with that >$4,000/sq ft asking price. It's nothing more than a bunch of bedrooms in an A-frame (make that a double A-frame). Such a wasted space design and thank goodness it won't be me trying to sleep in that upstairs sauna.
