Two New Modular Homes Bring Affordable Housing Solutions to La Crosse

Habitat for Humanity celebrated a major milestone Tuesday with the completion of its first two modular homes in Wisconsin, providing new opportunities for affordable homeownership on the northside of La Crosse. The two homes, located on Onalaska Avenue, were built in a factory and then transported in parts before being assembled on site.

According to Michael Rivers, Habitat for Humanity's construction supervisor, these homes mark a historic moment. "These are the first two we've done obviously, and these are the first in the state of Wisconsin by Habitat for Humanity," Rivers stated. "There's a lot of eyes on this, and they turned out to be a success in almost every respect."

Built with quality materials and designed for affordability, these modular homes reflect Habitat for Humanity’s commitment to innovative housing solutions. By partnering with the Coulee Community Land Trust, the organization ensures that these homes will remain permanently affordable, helping families build stability and community connections for years to come.

The project began last summer, with Habitat for Humanity embracing modular construction to efficiently deliver high-quality, low-cost homes that meet the needs of local families.
