Back in July, the one and only J. Grant Brittain was posting stories on his Instagram of himself, Tony Hawk, Jason Ellis, Dave Swift and a handful of others out at Woodward West. It was clear something was going on, but at first glance, it could've been anything .

Well, it didn't take long to realize they were there shooting on the revived Animal Chin Ramp with a mission in mind—Tony and Jason were going to share the spine and recreate their own version of Grant's iconic Animal Chin Ramp photo from Powell-Peralta's timeless 80s film, The Search for Animal Chin . And in the latest episode of the Hawk Vs. Wolf podcast, they made a mini doc highlighting the day (starts at 55:13). Take a look!

As you can see, this was quite the session. And whether you're a skateboarder from the 80s, a modern-day skate nerd or someone who simply appreciates fun moments of recreation like this, it's safe to say this was absolutely epic.

It wouldn't have made sense to have anyone else but Grant shoot this photo in 2024, but the simple fact that Tony, Grant, Jason and Swift are still out there shooting and skating together to this day is inspiring in its own right. We're talking decades upon decades of timeless moments, and the hits just keep on coming. Check one of Grant's photos from the day below.

Personally, I loved the post Jason Ellis made back in July reflecting on the session:

"One of the greatest days of my life and once again it had to do with my friend Tony Hawk. Skateboarding saved my life. When I first saw the Animal Chin Bones Brigade video I knew I wanted to be a professional skateboarder! Now 30 years later I had the privilege to ride the Chin ramp alongside that same skateboarder. Doing the same trick he did in that video!!"

It was a full-circle moment for Ellis, a nostalgic session for Grant and Tony and a legendary day for everyone else who was there to witness this moment go down. Honestly, the fact that Woodward West even has the Chin Ramp Redux is pretty rad when you think about it. But seeing it being put to use like this ... well, what more could you ask for?

The history of this iconic ramp speaks for itself. And it's still making The Birdman sweat! Love to see it. Hats off to all involved. It's just another example of a random idea being thrown out into the universe, only to be conquered by a few like-minded skateboarders. A tale as old as time. What's next, boys?
