    Hot dogs are a simple pleasure–ketchup, mustard, maybe some relish, and voila, you’ve got the classic all-American dog.

    However, there’s one restaurant in Tennessee that truly puts some extra love into the craft of hot dog assembly. A true dining fixture that's about as old-school as it gets: Miss Griffins Footlong Hot Dogs in Chattanooga.

    Miss Griffins opened in 1939 and has become one of Tennessee's most beloved eateries.

    The restaurant is known for its retro vibe that will seriously take you back in time. It features an old-fashioned service counter and a small dining space complete with a checkered tile floor, brightly colored walls, and vintage signage.

    The menu here hasn't changed in decades either, and it is often regarded as one of the most affordable places to eat in the Chattanooga area.

    Choose between 8 different specialty dogs all featuring their infamous foot-long hot dog and topped with various mouth-watering options from chili to relish and onions.

    The restaurant is also known for its signature "chop plate." A dish comprised of their classic footlong chopped up and covered in traditional bean chili with a side of slaw and Texas-style bread.
