This cozy little downtown restaurant is the definition of a hidden gem. From the outside, this place doesn't look like much but we promise Hattie's is home to some of the best soul food that the state has to offer.

Hattie's is a family-owned and operated restaurant that opened back in 1938 and has served fine Southern and Louisiana cuisine in a friendly, down-home atmosphere ever since. Over time, Hattie's has grown from a beloved neighborhood restaurant to a national institution.

The menu here offers everything you could possibly crave. Expect classics like fresh biscuits, cornbread, hushpuppies, mac and cheese, jambalaya, ribs, and catfish.
