This Small California Town is a Food Lover's Paradise

    2024-05-20

Some of us are die-hard foodies. We religiously watch the Food Network, we love to try new restaurants, and dining out does not mean simply visiting a fast-food chain.

From local eateries to upscale cafes, there is an abundance of excellent restaurants in California but some towns, simply offer a bit more than others.

The scenic town of Sausalito is home to about 7,000 residents and while this area draws plenty of visitors for its breathtaking views of the Bay Area, it is also home to a thriving dining scene.

No matter what type of cuisine you are craving, you're bound to find it somewhere within this charming town's streets.

For breakfast, there's no better place to head to than the Lighthouse Cafe, a cozy no-frills spot that serves up every delicious breakfast staple you can imagine from giant pancakes to french toast, omelets, and lobster eggs benedict.

For lunch, you are going to want to try Napa Valley Burger Company, one of CA's most beloved burger spots. This cozy brick-clad space is most known for its gourmet made-from-scratch burgers, guacamole-covered waffle fries, and local wines. Choose between innovative favorites like the turkey swiss avocado burger or the James Beard Competition Burger–a beef burger blended with pinot noir and marinated cremini topped with oyster mushrooms, arugula, basil aioli, and parmesan cheese crisp.

By far one of the most celebrated restaurants in town, a trip to Scoma's of Sausalito for dinner is a must. This lively restaurant boasts an incredible waterfront view and a wide selection of fresh seafood and classic Italian fare including clam chowder bread bowls, halibut, and lobster risotto.
