JERSEY COUNTY, Ill. — An elderly couple from Alton, Illinois, died Tuesday when their car became stuck in flash flooding in Jersey County. Jersey County Sheriff Nick Manns said his officer responded around noon to a call for a car in floodwaters on Beltrees Road, just east of Fessler Road.
