CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) – The Illinois State Conference NAACP has announced that it will be hosting its annual convention in Champaign. This 87th annual convention is September 27th-29th at the Hilton Garden Inn. The NAACP invites members, supporters, and the general public to participate in the conference. This year’s theme will be “All In,” which “embodies the spirit of unity and collective effort needed to address the pressing issues facing our communities,” said the NAACP leadership in their announcement. Normal firefighters take time to repair bikes after apartment fire
NORMAL – The Normal Fire Department was able to help out with more than just putting out an apartment fire on Monday. According to the fire department, crews responded to a kitchen fire Monday morning at an apartment in the 600 block of Orlando Avenue. A sprinkler activated and contained the fire until firefighters could fully extinguish it.
