Southern California Sold $1.2 Million Powerball Tickets

    2024-01-02

The $810 million Powerball drawing on Monday did not have any prize winners in California. However, the California Lottery says that one ticket worth more than a million dollars was sold in San Bernardino County.

There was a lucky $1.2 million ticket sold at the Country Store at 72129 Baker Boulevard in Baker. Five of the six numbers on the ticket were correct. Check your Powerball ticket right now if you haven't already. The numbers that won were 12, 21, 42, 44, 49, and 1. The Powerball website says that a jackpot-winning ticket worth about $842.4 million was bought in Michigan.

Also, six other tickets sold in California matched four of the six numbers, which meant they won almost $23,000. In Southern California over the last few months, a number of people have won millions of dollars in the lotto.

A $23 million SuperLotto Plus ticket was bought in Northridge in December. A $2.9 million Mega Millions ticket matching five of the six numbers was sold in Sawtelle just a few days before that win. A little over a week before that, two winning tickets at a Chevron station in Encino matched all six numbers in the drawing and won $394 million.

Lottery officials said that 2023 was "highly unusual" for Mega Millions. Ten awards were won in one year for the first time in ten years. With a prize of $20 million, the next Powerball drawing will take place on Wednesday, January 3, 2024.
