The state’s Medicaid rolls are down by roughly 136,000 kids since June 2023, and Missouri’s worst-in-nation processing delays make it arduous to re-enroll — causing many to miss doctor’s appointments, prescriptions. FIRST WARN FORECAST: Chance for rain dwindles as heat returns
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Sunday turned out to be a spectacular day! Most of us were in the upper 70s and lower 80s in the afternoon. We do have a few isolated showers/thunderstorms that will be possible through early evening, but this activity is more miss than hit. Many of us will stay dry. If you are loving this cooler stretch, we do have one more day in the lower 80s before the temperatures climb later this week. Monday morning starts in the lower 60s, with lower 80s in the afternoon. There is another 20% chance for a pop-up shower or random rumble, but that is about it. No severe thunderstorm threat. The main weather story after Monday will be the gradual climb of temperatures back to late July standards. We are expecting mid-80s Tuesday and Wednesday with a return to the upper 80s by the end of this next week. Generally, no major heat is expected, but we could climb into the lower 90s for some next weekend. Moderate humidity could allow for it to feel slightly hotter than our actual air temperatures. There is no great chance of rain in the next week, so things could turn a little crispy through the end of July. Some of our computer models are hinting at a much hotter start to August.

Patrick Mahomes deep dimes to Xavier Worthy at Chiefs camp should terrify rest of NFL
Patrick Mahomes seems to like his shiny new toy. When the Kansas City Chiefs traded up with the Buffalo Bills to select Xavier Worthy in April's draft, the rest of the NFL was put on notice. As puzzling as it was that Buffalo willingly traded back with their AFC rival -- thus allowing the Chiefs to fill their most obvious void on the offensive side of the ball -- the Texas product is a raw talent and has a long way to go as a route-runner.

How can Kansas City fix its broken housing market? It will take some big changes
Housing has become increasingly expensive in recent years, and Kansas City isn't immune: Rents here are among the fastest rising in the country, and housing stock is scarce, making for intense competition for prospective buyers. Part of the reason is because there's just not enough houses to begin with, says...
