A police officer, another driver and a K-9 were injured after a crash that left two vehicles and a building heavily damaged on Thursday.

The crash happened at the corner of 2nd and Bridge streets.

According to police, the officer was responding to a report of a person with a gun shortly before noon.

The officer's SUV was then struck by another vehicle after the driver ran the stop sign.

Chopper 6 was over the scene after a crash involving a Trenton police vehicle on July 25, 2024.

The impact sent the police vehicle into a building, leaving it heavily damaged.

The officer is hospitalized in stable condition. He suffered a laceration to his head and is undergoing further treatment and evaluation.

The other driver was also listed in stable condition, suffering bumps and bruises. Police say he was driving without a license.

The K-9 was checked out at a local animal hospital after suffering a facial injury.

The police cruiser slammed into the home's living room and took out the wall, couch and everything else inside.

"I was just shocked," said Sierra Cass, who lives in the home. "The only words able to come out of my mouth were, 'It's gone.'"

Edwin Molina watched it all play out from his porch.

"I was on my phone and see the police car with sirens coming full speed, when I look up, bam, I heard the bang," he said. "Another car was coming the other side, they just hit each other."

Alfredo Marin also lives nearby and says he isn't surprised.

"People come down this street flying 100 mph all the time," Marin said.

But now Cass and her partner, Ayden Fillmore, are out of their home.

They're pleading with drivers to take it easy.

"Just really, really tragic, just seeing our whole house crumble," said Fillmore.

A total of eight people are said to be getting assistance from the Red Cross.

Inspectors are evaluating the building damage.

Any potential charges are still pending the accident investigation.

This is MY house! I want everyone to know Trenton PD did NOTHING for my child Ayden Fillmore who was having a full on anxiety/panic attack. Also when I contacted TPD and spoke to a SGT and told them this and mentioned the cop was speeding going to a call about a person with a gun the SGT lied and said that's not true and the news is using that as click bait. HOWEVER the Mayor and officers in the scene have ALL came forth with the facts that the cop was indeed heading to a possible gun. It was later revealed that the "gun call" was actual for teens with air soft guns shooting each other in which other officers confiscated the guns and made no arrest. What is TPD SGT got to hide that he needed to lie about?
