Multi-vehicle wreck claims life in Decatur
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division reported a death in a multi-vehicle crash in Decatur Monday evening. At approximately 5:39, the victim, Brenda R. Reed, 78, was driving near Alabama 67 near Hulaco Road, in her 1999 GMC Sonoma when she collided with a 2017 Nissan Titan. Her truck overturned and left the roadway. Aaron Gaines, 34, the driver of the Nissan Titan collided with another vehicle after hitting Reed.

Shape Corp. opens Alabama facility
Shape Corp. has opened a second facility in Alabama. Located in Tanner, the 202,306-sq.-ft. plant is expected to create more than 100 jobs in the next year. The facility produces lightweight aluminum and steel crash management and structural components for automobiles. In addition to aluminum and steel welding, the plant will offer roll forming capabilities. The existing plant in Athens, Ala., will continue to specialize in plastic injection molding.

Bridger Aerospace Acquires FMS Aerospace
Bridger Aerospace announced on July 1 that it has acquired FMS Aerospace (“FMS”). FMS, based in Huntsville, Alabama, is a turn-key provider of airframe modification and integration solutions for government and commercial customers including instrumentation, flight testing and airworthiness certification. The consideration for the transaction was $17.51 million in equity, with an additional contingent equity earn-out consideration of up to $3.09 million.
