Coosada residents upset over electric for gas facility
Potential new Alabama Power lines to a Spire liquified natural gas plant and storage facility near Coosada have neighbors almost screaming for help. Coosada Mayor Jim Houston, councilmember Howard Goza and Henry Hassey all live on Jackson Bend Road. They said for months Alabama Power has been trying to take their property to construct a new high voltage power line to power the gas plant just outside town limits. Tuscaloosa’s DCH to End 28-Room Hotel Program for Patients & Loved Ones
Tuscaloosa's DCH Regional Medical Center will soon end a program that provides patients and loved ones with an affordable place to stay before or during hospitalization. In a memo published earlier this month, hospital administrators alerted staff that DCH will end its Guest Room Program on September 1st and begin repurposing the 28 rooms dedicated to it.
