Where typical home values have pushed higher than $1M
Nestled amid the palm trees of Jupiter Island, Florida, is a three-bedroom, five-bathroom house with a pool on a half-acre lot.<\p> The 2,798-square-foot house, only steps to the beach and offering ocean views, is currently listed on the market for $5.1 million. As of the time of publication, it's the cheapest house for sale on Jupiter Island, which boasts the highest median home value in America, according to Zillow Group Inc. (Nasdaq: ZG).<\p>
Developer eyes small Wake town for 500 homes
Northeast Wake County could be getting a residential development with more than 500 homes and commercial uses.<\p> South Carolina developer BRD Land and Investment recently filed a new rezoning application with the Town of Rolesville to allow for the development of 546 townhomes and single-family homes. The rezoning is for 195 acres on Rolesville Road south of Highway 401 and near Rolesville High School.<\p>

As a hometown church in Knightdale works through a legal kerfuffle involving bankruptcy, a lawsuit and a suspended merger, it’s trying to keep paying its lead pastor a salary that equates to about $125,000 a year.<\p> Faith Baptist Church filed for bankruptcy reorganization in May following a lawsuit filed by a pair of its parishioners to stop its buyout by regional church The Summit.<\p>

Liquidia lands another legal victory in bringing new drug to market
Liquidia has secured another legal victory over United Therapeutics as the Morrisville-based drugmaker tries to bring its lead product to the market. <\p> A federal judge on May 31 denied a motion by United Therapeutics for a preliminary injunction aimed at blocking the launch of Liquidia's drug Yutrepia for pulmonary hypertension associated with interstitial lung disease (PH-ILD).<\p>
Durham nonprofit looks to expand on site of church fire
Durham Rescue Mission is looking to expand its operations by adding space on the site of a former church that was destroyed by fire last month. <\p> The homeless shelter is proposing an expansion to add office, retail, warehouse and parking across from its current location at 1201 E. Main St. A proposed rezoning covers more than 3 acres along South Alston Avenue, Angier Avenue, South Holman Street and East Main Street consisting of vacant lots and some buildings. <\p>

Wake Forest land primed for luxury homes sells for millions
Land in northern Wake County that's approved for a custom home subdivision has been sold for $6 million.<\p> Nearly 40 acres in Wake Forest, north of Highway 98 and The Hasentree Club, were acquired by an LLC addressed to Homes by Dickerson, according to Wake County deed records. The acreage is on two parcels split by Bold Run Hill Road — 12733 and an unaddressed parcel. The combined assessed value is approximately $1.5 million. <\p>

St. Aug's troubles deepen as alumni group sues school
Amid concerns about the school's future, a group of alumni is suing Saint Augustine's University.<\p> The Save SAU Coalition, a group made up of university alumni and other supporters, on Friday filed a complaint in Wake County Superior Court with the aim of removing the Raleigh university's board of trustees. The group accuses the board of breaching its fiduciary duties and university bylaws, allowing Saint Augustine's to reach a point where its accreditation and future are in jeopardy.<\p>

Holly Springs site to produce 4.8 million bird flu shots
The U.S. government is leaning on a company with operations in North Carolina in its response to the bird flu outbreak. <\p> CSL Seqirus has secured a contract from the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority to deliver nearly 5 million doses of a vaccine that is well-matched to the currently circulating H5N1 — avian influenza — strain. The company is completing this work at its massive facility in Holly Springs. <\p>
Wealthy area of Wake County gets more million-dollar homes
A custom home community is underway in a wealthy area on the edge of Wake County.<\p> Plans for a new 16-home subdivision were recently approved by the Town of Apex. The homes will be in the New Hill area southwest of Apex’s core and close to Jordan Lake. The properties were annexed by Apex late last year. <\p>

Just over three months after announcing its roughly $200 million investment in North Carolina, a Japanese pharmaceutical company is moving fast — already hiring more than a dozen workers and submitting designs for its new facility.<\p> Kyowa Kirin made a splash in late February when it announced it'd place its first North American biomanufacturing facility on 75 acres outside Sanford at Helix Innovation Park at the Brickyard — a move the company says will create 102 jobs.<\p>
