TowneBank buys its Triad headquarters for $31.5 million
TowneBank has purchased a building in a prominent Greensboro office park from a local developer after leasing space in the building earlier this year.<\p> TowneBank (Nasdaq: TOWN) purchased the 107,000-square-foot office building at 628 Green Valley Road for approximately $31.5 million Monday, according to Steve Shavitz, a partner with Deep River Partners, and filings with the Guilford County Register of Deeds. <\p>
RDU moves ahead with major parking expansion
Work to add thousands of additional parking spaces at Raleigh-Durham International Airport includes a major project to manage stormwater. <\p> As part of the expansion of the Economy 3 parking lot off Aviation Parkway south of the airport near the Sheetz station, the Raleigh-Durham Airport Authority seeks to incorporate a system to treat stormwater during the construction process.<\p>

The Saint Augustine's University Board of Trustees aims to stop a lawsuit filed by an alumni organization and two former board members from moving forward. <\p> Attorneys representing the board on Monday filed a motion in Wake County Superior Court to dismiss a complaint filed by the Save SAU Coalition, a group made up of university alumni and other supporters, and former board members Henry Debnam and John Larkins.<\p>
Cary giant makes $475M Texas acquisition
A Cary company that employs thousands is making a $475 million acquisition. <\p> Cornerstone Building Brands Inc., maker of exterior building materials, is purchasing Mueller Supply Company Inc., a Texas-based manufacturer of steel buildings and residential metal roofing. <\p>
New wedding and event space to open near Chatham Park (Photos)
A new wedding and event venue is coming near a massive development in Chatham County.<\p> Jen Shaefer along with her father, Mark Shaefer, are planning to bring "The Skyroom" to 247 Callies Haven Way off Moncure Pittsboro Road. The 7,000-square-foot building, which has a Moncure address just outside Pittsboro and is located near Chatham Park, can accommodate up to 250 guests and will start hosting events in June of next year.<\p>
Airbus to buy North Carolina facility that employs hundreds
The multibillion-dollar deal for Boeing to buyback Spirit AeroSystems is being felt in North Carolina.<\p> As part of the deal, Airbus, the multinational aerospace company that is a top competitor to Boeing (NYSE: BA), will acquire the Spirit AeroSystems (NYSE: SPR) operation in Kinston at the North Carolina Global TransPark.<\p>

HVAC company buys Raleigh building to support hiring
An HVAC company has bought an industrial building in Raleigh to support its expansion in the city. <\p> An LLC addressed to Bennett Funderburk, Raleigh branch manager of Hoffman and Hoffman, acquired the Northeast Raleigh building the company uses just outside the Beltline for $3.5 million, according to Wake County deed records. The Greensboro-based company has plans to expand into the rest of the building and hire more employees.<\p>
