Police are investigating the discovery of a small baggie of pills found Monday evening outside McGee Elementary School .

A parent turned in “one baggie containing four small pills” that she found after a community event at the school, according to a statement from Pasco School District.

The pills were secured by the school nurse and police were notified.

It’s unclear what kind of pills were turned in, based on the district’s statement. The Tri-City Herald has reached out to Pasco police requesting more information.

The district was made aware of the incident Tuesday afternoon and is asking any parents or children who may have information to contact police.

“The safety and well-being of our students is our top priority,” the school district wrote. “We are aware that some social media posts contain incorrect information about this incident. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to your school directly.”
