(CNN) — US Customs and Border Protection officers in southern California discovered that a supposed watermelon shipment wasn’t what it seemed after they uncovered more than $5 million worth of methamphetamine concealed inside, the agency said.

Sequoia Park Zoo has announced the passing of beloved Red Panda Sumo
Eureka, Calif. — The 15 year old Red Panda named Sumo has passed away, far exceeding the typical lifespan of 8-10 years. Sumo was born at the Denver Zoo in 2009 and made his way to the Sequoia Park Zoo with his brother Shifu in 2010. While Sumo's passing wasn't unexpected due to his age, it was heartbreaking for staff, volunteers and guests.

Viewer videos show heavy rain in Northern California on Saturday; snow falls at Palisades Tahoe
Thunderstorms moving across Northern California on Saturday dropped heavy rain across parts of the region. The rain hit Roseville and Granite Bay from 2:30 to 4:10 p.m., Meteorologist Dirk Verdoorn said. Douglas Boulevard in Roseville flooded during the storm, the viewer video above shows. Other areas like Yuba City also experienced heavy rain.
