Gallatin Valley business wants region to say YES to compost
Karl Johnson, through his Belgrade-based company YES Compost, moves about 20,000 pounds of food scrap each week. With his two other employees, one part-time, one full-time, he runs five routes that service Bozeman, Big Sky, and Yellowstone National Park, collecting organic material including old apple cores, eggshells and coffee grounds, which over the course of a year he’ll turn, rotate, and sift before returning it to people’s gardens as fresh, rich compost.

Laurel Chamber asks for public's help in keeping kids safe at parade
Fourth of July in Laurel, Montana - a small town celebration on the grandest of scales. Thousands of people pour into Laurel for the annual parade, pancake breakfast, Chief Joseph run, vendor and food truck event and, of course, the best fireworks show in the state. Laurel’s Chamber of Commerce handles all but the breakfast and fireworks for the holiday. This massive undertaking rests on the shoulders of Chamber Director, Camilla Story, the Chamber Board of Directors and a handful of volunteers.

The Big Sky Conference office has released its 2024 Spring All-Academic Team, honoring 667 athletes spanning seven different sports. Idaho State (76) edged Montana State (73) in sports which the Bobcats participate during the spring season.
