Elysburg to hold 105th All Home Days this weekend
Elysburg, Pa. — The 105th All Home Days celebration is taking place this weekend in Elysburg. The annual celebration started in the fall of 1919 to welcome World War I troops back home. Since then, the festivities have continued as a way to honor all veterans. The three-day event runs Saturday to Monday. It includes food and craft vendors, live bands every night, lawn games, and more. The event's parade begins on Saturday at 11 a.m. at Center Street Community Park. Sunday night at 9:15 p.m. will feature a fireworks show. Other event highlights include breakfast each morning, a cutest pet contest, and much more. A full schedule of the event:
Wrong-way crash on Route 33 kills driver, seriously injures others
A wrong-way crash killed a driver and injured a second driver Sunday night on Route 33 in Hamilton Township, Monroe County, Pennsylvania State Police said. The deceased, who had not been identified by authorities as of midday Monday, was driving a Hyundai Accent southbound in the northbound lanes of the highway about 6:30 p.m. Sunday on a stretch between Route 209 and Interstate 80, state police said in a news release.
