Two spots remain for venomous snake workshop

There was a lot of rattle around town about the venomous snake workshop to be hosted by the Pike County Extension Office at Troy University’s Arboretum on June 21.

There seemed to be more skeptics than those who formed the head of the line.

Perhaps, some were giving thought to being in an enclosure with venomous snakes and hesitated to register. Now, it may be too late.

As of Monday, only two slots were available for the venomous snake identification, general safety around venomous snakes, handling/securing venomous snakes and venomous snake bite protocols.

Abby Peters, Pike County Extension coordinator, said, however, slots could reopen.

    Online pre-registration is required.

Register at aces.edu/go/venomous-snakes-troy or for more information, contact the Pike County Extension Office at 566-0985.
