Sickle Cell Awareness Walk set for June 22

Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Iota Eta Sigma Chapter will host a Sickle Cell Awareness Walk, Saturday, June 22, at the Troy Parks and Recreation Center’s Miracle League Field.

The walk will be from 8 until 11 a.m. and all ages are invited to participate.

Chapter member Annette Toney said the Sickle Cell Awareness Walk will be held in honor of young Trojans, Braidon Hill and Rhoer Navaeh, who are dealing with sickle cell disease.

All donations will be greatly appreciated, Toney said.

“This will be our chapter’s first Sickle Cell Awareness Walk and we are looking forward to being able to lend support to St. Jude’s program that helps children with sickle cell disease,” Toney said.
