Want to know what’s going on at the Johnson Center for the Arts?

First, circle every second Saturday on your calendar,” said Andrea Pack, JCA director said. “We won’t cancel unless there are no registrations. Second, we have upcoming events posted on our website: www.jcatroy.org . And third, we also put out upcoming events on Facebook.”

Also, for additional questions or inquiries, contact the Johnson Center for the Arts at 334-670-2287.

“The mission of our non-profit organization is to invite local citizens to experience the arts,” Pack said. “Although the museum and its classes are often free or low cost, we count on memberships to keep us operational. Our membership drive for the next fiscal year will be starting in September. We also welcome art supplies, both new or recycled, and volunteers to help with special projects or field trips.”

As for the upcoming months, the Second Saturday class will be taught painting by artist Dorothy Foster on August 10, and gell printing by Mary Holman Johnson on September 14.

“Both events will be free of cost to the public thanks to the grant from the Daniel Foundation of Alabama to cover our Second Saturday Studios. We hope to see participation grow as word spreads that there is always something going on at the JCA and most workshops, activities and events are free.
